A special note to our friends

BibleWorks served the church for 26 years by providing a suite of professional tools aimed at enabling students of the Word to “rightly divide the word of truth”. But it became increasingly apparent over time that the need for our services had diminished to the point where we believed the Lord would have us use our gifts in other ways. As of June 15, 2018 BibleWorks ceased operation as a provider of Bible software tools. We made this announcement with sadness, but also with gratitude to God and thankfulness for a multitude of faithful users who have stayed with us for a large part of their adult lives.

CAUTION

Do not purchase copies of BibleWorks on e-Bay. They are almost always illegal, hacked versions. Be especially cautious about copies sold from Singapore. Please honor the copyright laws. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9-10)." Ask them to send installation instructions and all of the BibleWorks activation codes to me for verification. After they have confirmed their willingness to do this, e-mail me for authorization to buy.

The following text will give instructions on how to activate a new BibleWorks 8, 9 or 10 installation. It is important that you carefully follow the guidelines in section 3 below. I receive a lot of requests and I am trying to automate the process as much as possible. Requests are fulfilled and tracked using the subject line of the e-mail described in section 3. The requested information must be in the SUBJECT heading of the e-mail exactly as specified. Requests that do not follow the guidelines precisely will NOT be processed. If you do not receive directions on how to download and apply the activation file, check the instructions below again. I am sorry that I have to be insist on this. I do not have the time to respond to or correct invalid requests. There are just too many.

Please be advised that serial numbers with 4 or more repeated characters in a row are scammed serial numbers and will not work. I am sorry if you have been victimized by a thief. Theft like this is one reason that we are no longer in business. The Lord will judge accordingly.

If you do not receive a response in a couple of days:

1. Check your e-mail spam folder.

2. Double check your serial number for typos.

3. Make sure you followed the instructions on how to submit your request. To repeat, the subject line (not the message body) must have your serial number, including the BW## prefix, followed by your serial number with no blanks, followed by space and your name. See below.

4. The serial number that you send me MUST be the same as the one used to install the program. If there is any doubt about this, uninstall and reinstall BiblWorks.

The BibleWorks store, online activation server, and user forum are no longer available. The same is true for phone and e-mail support for program use and installtion issues. The BibleWorks program can no longer be sold or updated. You may be able to find used copies for sale, but beware: most of these are illegal hacked versions.

Versions earlier than BibleWorks 8 can still be installed using the original distribution media.

BibleWorks 8, 9 and 10 can still be installed, but to activate the program you will be required to replace the BibleWorks executable after the installation. The process for doing this is as follows:

  1. Install the program using your original distribution media. When prompted, enter ALL of your serial numbers. The easiest way to do this is to copy them to the clipboard and the installation program will find them. If you do not enter all of your serial numbers, you will not have access to all of your purchased modules.

  2. Run the program. When you are prompted to activate the program, exit the program and go to the next step. If you have already passed the 30 day trial period, exit the program and go to the next step.

  3. Send an e-mail to activation@bibleworks.com. The subject line of the e-mail must contain only your BibleWorks serial number followed by a space and your name. No other characters please or the message may not be processed. The serial number should not contain any spaces. The subject line should look like one of these:

    BW80-####-####-####-#### Your Name

    BW90-####-####-####-#### Your Name

    BW10-####-####-####-#### Your Name.

    The main text of the e-mail should contain any proof of purchase information that you have. Please understand that I have no support staff and am receiving a lot of activation requests. I may not be able to respond to any special requests on other issues. Please do not use this e-mail address to ask for support with program features. Keep in mind that the Youtube library of instructional videos is still available. See BibleWorks Instructional Videos.

  4. Within a few hours (or days depending on how busy I am) you will receive an e-mail containg a link to a zip file containing one or more files which you need to unzip to your desktop or anywhere else. Depending on your security settings, Windows may block files coming from other systems. After unzipping, you can check this by right clicking on each individual file name in the Windows File Explorer and selecting Properties. In the properties window that appears, if it is blocked, click on the 'Unblock' box at the bottom of the General tab and click OK. Then copy the files to your BibleWorks folder (something like "c:\program files (x86)\BibleWorks 10"). You should then be able to run the program.

    If you see the old activation screen with manual and online activation options, it means that you did not properly copy the new executables to the BibleWorks folder. Check that they were not locked by the system when you unzipped them.

    If you receive a message that says "Invalid Serial Number" this means that you installed BibleWorks using a different serial number than the one you sent me, or you entered the serial number incorrectly. You can uninstall BibleWorks, delete the BW folder and reinstall using the same serial number that you sent me.

  5. Please do not give your serial number to anyone else. And do not give the downloaded files to other users. They will work only with your installation. BibleWorks contains a lot of material that is still copyrighted by dozens of companies. Please respect the copyright laws.

I appreciate the fact that there are still a lot of people using legally purchased copies of BibleWorks. If you own BibleWorks 8, 9 or 10, the procedure outlined above should make it possible for you to use the program for many more years. If you keep the installation media and the downloaded files, no further input from me should be needed in the future. I will provide this service as long as the Lord enables, which means until He takes me home (I am now an old man) or the Lord returns. Come quickly Lord Jesus.
